HEALTH FORUM FOR VIETNAMESE GPS

On the 25th of August 2004, a health forum for Vietnamese GPs was organized with its aim is to provide referral information on services such as Fairfield Mental Health, Respiratory care, Pharmacy and GP Liaison with Drug and Alcohol Services. The cultural issues amongst the Vietnamese community were also discussed by Dr Thomas Luong, a Psychiatrist/ Consultant on Mental Health.

Firstly, the VPHCN website was launched by Ms BalwinderSidhu, Service Manager of FMHS. The VPHCN website was designed to promote the concept of Primary Health Care, promote Vietnamese Primary Health Care Network, further build partnership among Vietnamese GPs and other primary health care services, raise awareness of services available and clients’ needs, improve communication among all network members.

The website provides share and access up to date information, easy access to other useful websites, online registration for network membership, submit articles either in English or Vietnamese.
